Sustainable mining involves the responsible extraction of critical materials while protecting the environment and supporting the well-being of workers and communities. The CMRC advances this mission by analyzing, developing, and promoting best practices in land use, worker health and safety, community engagement, site rehabilitation, and energy efficiency. Through interdisciplinary research, the Center aims to enable resilient and responsible supply chains for critical materials.
