Planetary and Lunar Resources
The Center for Planetary Systems Habitability (CPSH) is an interdisciplinary research center located virtually at The University of Texas at Austin reporting to the Jackson School of Geosciences. The Center is the result of a partnership between the College of Natural Sciences, the Jackson School of Geosciences, and the Cockrell School of Engineering.
CPSH collaborates across departmental and school/college boundaries to understand where and how habitable zones develop and evolve within planetary systems. This research integrates planetary dynamics with habitability studies and astrobiology, including the development and persistence of life on Earth and how we would find and recognize life on other worlds.
The CPSH core philosophy is to take an integrative systems science approach to better understand planetary habitability across space and time.
